US-based flexible packaging developer, Sigmaplast has partnered with Brückner to commence its first Biaxially-Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film production line in Ecuador, South America.
Brückner said the 6.6m wide, five-layer line will be producing clear and white BOPP specialty films for added value food packaging and trendy labels.
The new line will enable Sigmaplast to meet market demands with flexibility and is part of the company’s new facility in Pifo, greater area of Quito, where the various fast growing activities will be concentrated in a large industrial park.
Sigmaplast specialises in developing and laminated flexible packaging based on elements such as polyethylene, polypropylene and cellophane. The company started its operations in 1975 with the production of rolls and bags of polyethylene in the packaging of food products.
