SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment will junk plastic shopping bags at all its theme parks by 2013.
Park gift shops will offer paper bags, which are made from 100% recycled paper, or guests can opt to buy reusable bags.
According to the company, this move will prevent an estimated four million plastic bags from entering landfills each year.
SeaWorld spokesperson told PlasticsToday that the company had a long history of actively supporting sea turtle conservation each year in the wild that have been impacted by human behavior.
"This change is natural for us and provides an opportunity to communicate to guests how they, too, can help make a difference for these animals," the spokesperson added.
