Iwatani’s Chinese subsidiaries, Suzhou ISR e-Films and Zhongshan Iwatani, have been selected by Showa Denko Packaging, a subsidiary of Showa Denko KK (SDK) based in Japan, for expanding SDK's aluminum laminated films business in China.
The move comes as part of measures to make Showa Denko Packaging’s aluminum laminated film business protect itself from the effects of rising yen.
According to Showa Denko Packaging, it has so far handled the entire process of manufacturing in Japan, including lamination of resin film with aluminum foil and slitting.
Aluminum laminated film ensures higher flexibility in molding, lighter weight, and better heat dissipation and is thus widely used as packaging material in mobile applications, claimed the firm.
The Iwatani Group’s Suzhou ISR e-Films and Zhongshan Iwatani began slitting work, and distribution services in China and other Asian markets last month for Showa Denko Packaging’s aluminum laminated films.
