Belgium-based Sappi Fine Paper Europe will increase prices for its Solid Bleached boards by €100 per ton for deliveries as of 15 October 2010.
The price rise includes all its European and overseas markets and follows an increase earlier in the year and continued strong demand for these products.
Sappi Fine Paper Europe director specialities Gregory Gettinger said their first price rise has barely compensated for the extraordinary cost increases.
“The upwards trend of cost increases in oil related additives, starches and wood is having a serious effect on our margins and makes our latest price increase unavoidable,” Gettinger added.
Sappi’s specialities sales force will be contacting customers shortly to discuss the implementation details.
Sappi is a producer of coated fine paper and dissolving pulp. Its brands include many well known graphic papers, as well as speciality labelling, packaging and release liner papers and boards.
