Canada-based Ropak Packaging, a subsidairy of Linpac, has received a patent for the Diamond Weave Technology incorporated in its latest line of rigid plastic containers.
Diamond Weave Technology is Ropak’s new product, which aims to take forward its successful retail container market profile.
Ropak marketing director Pansy Leo said Ropak has continued its ‘Less is more’ mantra by also lightweighting its lids and plastic handles.
"Ropak thinks "Less is more" makes good business sense, and is also good for the environment," Leo said.
The technology is designed to attain 35% source reduction and 43% GHG emissions reduction, said the company.
These are only two of the many sustainability claims for Diamond Weave Technology that have been third-party verified.
According to the company, Diamond Weave containers are offered in various shapes- round, square, rectangular and a range of sizes from 0.6 to 5.3-gallons. Many of the containers have already been successfully commercialized in a variety of markets in both food and non-food applications.
