Roland to introduce new proofing technology from CGS Publishing

Denmark-based wide format digital printer manufacturer Roland DG will introduce the new ORIS Flex Pack // Web contract proofing solution at the 2nd Annual European Packaging Summit to be held on 14-15 January 2013 in Berlin, Germany.

The company’s new ORIS Flex Pack // Web contract proofing solution has been developed by CGS Publishing Technologies as an on-demand alternative to slow and expensive legacy systems for packaging proofing, and includes a Roland VersaCAMM VS-series wide format printer/cutter

The full package includes the ORIS Flex Pack // Web software, the Roland VersaCAMM VS printer/cutter, an ORIS heating unit and additionally a full range of proofing media with the capacity to connect to the Esko Color Engine spot color database.

Roland DG (UK) packaging, proofing & industrial labeling business manager Steve Chappell said the new inkjet-based contract proofing and prototyping solution will provide savings in consumable costs and production time to design agencies, repro houses and in-house packaging departments.

"Inkjet is a technology that is going to have a huge impact on the packaging sector over the next few years and Roland is a pioneer in this area with highly versatile machines like our LEC Series and VersaCAMM range," Chappell said.
