Republic Plastics will be doubling its thermoform facility with its second Knoxville plant focus on Eastern Seaboard customers on a 98,000 ft² facility, and employ up to 500 at maximum capacity.
The second plant operated as warehouse with 30 to 50 employees, but was expanded in 2011 for manufacturing
Republic Plastics president and CEO Gino Inman said there is not any distinguishing mark between store brands and the branded labels.
The firm manufactures foam containers and tableware, in addition to producing private label consumer products.
Republic Plastics also has facilities at McQueeney in Texas and Eloy in Arizona.
According to the firm, consumers would prefer buying store brands provided they are of higher quality, and save around 15-20%.
