Red Tractor, owned by Assured Food Standards (AFS) in the UK has launched a new sandwich and salad labeling module that will allow manufacturers to apply the logo to their Red Tractor Assured sandwiches and salads and help fulfil LOCOG's Food Vision that states all food served at the Olympic Games should be Red Tractor Assured.
The logo, which will make its debut on sandwiches and salads served at the London Olympic 2012 Games, has been developed by Red Tractor in cooperation with Food Partners Group.
According to Red Tractor, the new module is available to all processors and packers for food service and retailers to use and means that more Red Tractor products will get recognition on pack in the ‘food-to-go’ category.
Red Tractor CEO David Clarke said: "Sandwiches are a very important part of our diet and it is only natural that we should develop a labeling module that allows manufacturers to communicate their commitment to sourcing quality assured ingredients to consumers."
AFS is an independent organization that manages and promotes the Red Tractor quality mark on food packs.
