Portola Packaging has announced about plans to concentrate on packaging of beverages rather than the cosmetics segment it has been serving.
The firm said it saw potential in non-carbonated markets for aseptic, hot fill, extended shelf life and closures and bottles.
Portola Packaging senior vice president and chief financial officer Glenn Fish said the firm was now looking at untapped segments like dairy, in addition to aseptic and hot filling.
"It allows us to focus time and capital resources to see a return, to put all our eggs in the basket to get to the end goal." added Fish.
According to the firm, the same magnitude of capital can be invested in beverages for a better return, than that has been spent on cosmetics packaging.
Portola packaging also keeps a focus on its green initiatives going forward, that it has been pursuing for some time.
