UK-based pi global created an innovative new packaging solution for Robinsons with a distinctive shape to differentiate the double from the single concentrate.
The company said its structural team explored a variety of formats and designs, incorporating the existing design equities, resulting in a new and unique structural design for the product.
pi global design director Tim Llewellyn said that a new size of Robinsons double concentrate was introduced into the Irish squash market to increase consumer awareness of the product and to help drive sales.
"The design retains the strong Robinsons family attributes and heritage yet delivers a modern aesthetic and language for the variant. This had to be done whilst adhering to strict technical constraints to enable the bottle to run on the existing production line with minimal change parts and capex," Llewellyn said.
Robinsons squash, which was acquired by Britvic in 1995, is a family favorite in Ireland and offers the broadest range of flavors on the market.
In 2011, Robinsons introduced their double concentrate variety in 1.25L and 1.75L bottles. This new variant also contributed to the environment as it had a 35% reduction in the amount of packaging used.
