OCTAL has partnered with LuLu Hypermarkets in the Middle East to provide a range of PET containers for an array of products' packaging and selling.
Thermoforming subsidiary CrystalPack would offer Lulu with DPETTM, a direct-to-sheet polyester sheet, with enhanced visual and mechanical properties that deliver eco-friendly and attractive packaging, OCTAL claimed.
According to Lulu Hypermarkets, in addition to weight reduction advantages, CrystalPack’s is ideal for packaging both dry and liquid contents for its advanced leak-proof properties and closure features.
The chain claimed it uses oxo-degradable plastic bags at all its outlets and adopted measures to cut down the effect of plastics to the maximum extent possible.
OCTAL CrystalPack regional sales manager Ghassan Sawaya said the partnership fallsin line with their import substitution strategy to provide locally-produced items of better quality.
"We have always viewed ourselves as an integrated supplier with control of the value chain to promote independence of the economy and aid industrialization. This model encourages the retention of capital for use locally." added Sawaya.
