NewPage upgrades coated paper line

North American producer of printing and specialty papers NewPage has upgraded its Digital Coated Paper line with a new look and new paper. The digital premium papers include Sterling Premium Digital and Sterling Premium Digital.

The entire NewPage Digital Coated Paper line has a new look, with redesigned ream wraps and boxes that will begin with the new Sterling product initially and continue with Futura, Produtolith Pts Digital and Blazer Digital through the remainder of 2012.

Sterling Premium Digital and Sterling Premium Digital for HP Indigo are available in a full range of finishes, weights and sizes including a new 120lb gloss and dull cover weight. Besides, the Futura product line includes a 120lb gloss and dull cover while Blazer Digital has expanded to include a 110lb gloss and satin cover.

NewPage Digital Papers director Dennis Essary said print service providers gave the products good scores during press trials, not only on the surface smoothness and brightness but also on the product’s consistency and performance on press.

"Even though we just started shipping paper, Sterling Premium Digital and Sterling Premium Digital for HP Indigo have already proven themselves in the field," Essary said.

NewPage’s product portfolio includes coated, specialty, supercalendered and uncoated papers, which are used in specialty paper applications including beverage bottle labels, food and medical packaging, pressure-sensitive labels and release liners.

The papers are also used in commercial printing to create corporate collateral, magazines, catalogs, books, coupons, inserts and direct mail.
