Manrex has interfaced the Global Factories MDM (Medication Detection Machine) to all three providers of ATP (Automated Tablet Packaging) machines in Canada, including Sanyo (TCGRx), Yuyama (Automed) and Pac-Med (JV-Medi) machines.
In addition to these interfaces, the MDM now also reads all forms of barcode styles, including Aztec.
Manrex claimed that it was the first company to introduce a pouch verification system to the Canadian market.
Manrex sales manager Ben Szuuts said that they have independents, chain pharmacies and health regions all committed to ensuring medication dispensing accuracy through the use of the MDM.
Manrex Sales and Marketing VP John Webster said that when Manrex realised the importance of pouch verification, having introduced and sold ATP machines for over five years to Canadian pharmacies and seeing the resulting problems first hand, they immediately began a search to find the best pouch verification machine on the market.
