Mactac launches new advanced adhesive technology at Labelexpo Americas 2012

US-based Mactac has launched a new advanced adhesive technology at Labelexpo Americas 2012.

Mactac Puretac CL216 is claimed to have superior clarity and adhesion for packaging and labeling applications of health, beauty, food, beverage and household cleaner products.

Mactac roll label product manager Kim Hensley said the market required a clear, permanent adhesive for a variety of substrates and facestocks.

"Designed for film labeling applications where exceptional clarity and excellent tack are required, Mactac Puretac CL216 is the ultimate adhesive. Its optically clear, go-on, stay-on performance also benefits security aspects required of packaging and labeling applications," Hensley said.

According to the company, Puretac CL216 exhibits high clarity, high tack and peel, a quick, strong bond and better adhesion to low-energy surfaces.

Mactac Puretac CL216 is available on a 2ml clear, 2.3ml white and 2ml chrome, top coated, biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) with 1ml and 1.2ml PET liners.

The adhesive is suitable for application to high-density polyethylene (HDPE) surfaces, such as juice, water bottles, oil bottles, detergent and other household cleaner product containers, the company said.
