UK-based Linx has unveiled a new range of inkjet coding equipment Linx 7900 that can be monitored from a smartphone and increases scheduled maintenance periods from one year to 18 months, while helping in the reduction of costs.
Linx senior product manager Charles Randon told Packaging News that the range will replace the existing 7300 range and its launch will respond to the requirement of the customers, which pertains to reduction in running costs.
"With the economic conditions that are out there, customers are looking more at cost of ownership," Randon added.
With the help of the Linx Insight software, users can monitor the current status of printers including information with regard to the current print message, print count, ink and solvent status.
The software can be accessed by the users either from a remote computer or from a web-enabled smartphone.
