US-based Leonard Paper, in partnership with Cole Roofing, has announced the installation of new 451kV solar PV array at its commercial facility located on N Haven Street in Baltimore, Maryland.
Renewable energy firm Pfister Energy was responsible for the design and construction of the 42,000ft² solar system for Leonard Paper.
The roof of the Baltimore facility holds over 1,700 solar panels that are expected to produce electricity for 30 years.
According to Leonard Paper, additional electricity generated by the system will go to the electricity grid for distribution to other power customers.
The solar array is said to provide Leonard Paper with a hedge against volatile electrical rates.
Leonard Paper supplies janitorial supplies and foodservice disposables.
