Kwikee, a division of MultiAd, has created an Application Programming Interface (API) for retailers and e-commerce developers that need information for consumer products.
The interface will provide companies with a relaibale source of exact product information and images from brands which pay for their product content to be represented in the database of the company.
Kwikee product manager Randy Burd said it is critical for consumers to be presented with reliable information, when they consider dietary restrictions.
"Consumers actively research nutrition information, allergens and ingredients online and on their mobile devices, and there is concern that some information is either inaccurate or out-of-date," Burd added.
With the help of the product information in Kwikee consumers can research the required product information to make better decisions relating to food, beverage, health and beauty, and personal care products.
Kwikee works with brand owners such as Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods, Unilever, L’Oreal and ConAgra to collect and combine product information that is found on the recent version of product packaging.
Kwikee develops, manages and distributes product images, data and related content that are approved by manufacturers.
