Italy-based Domenico De Lucia, an agricultural produce packaging firm, has installed the KODAK FLEXCEL NX System as part of efforts to foray into flexible packaging printing.
The firm recorded sales of €17m in 2011 and made substantial investments in its printing division in 2010 and 2011.
According to the firm, the flexographic printing system would ensure consistent, predictable and perfectly repeatable results.
Direct contact between layer and plate eliminates oxygen during UV exposure, ensuring a 1:1 reproduction from digital file to finished plate, to produce a clearer and a cleaner stable dot with a flat top on the plate.
Kodak PRINERGY EVO Workflow offers scalable tools for controlling prepress production for increased workload, claims the firm.
The firm claims FLEXCEL NX System also offers longer print runs and a wider color gamut.
The Kodak Workflow System integrates with the features of the Kodak Prinergy Powerpack Workflow and the Kodak Pandora Step-and-Repeat Software.
Kodak customers have responded to tests indicating KODAK FLEXCEL NX plates will continue for two to five times longer on press.
