UK-based tea and herbal drinks packaging company Infusion GB has received a £1m finance package from HSBC to purchase new tea bag packaging machine.
The new equipment bought from Italy will allow the company to produce bags in different formats such as non-staple tag and envelope style.
The packaging machine is also expected to increase the company’s production capacity by 35%.
Infusion GB director Bruce Stevens said in recent years the company has achieved strong organic growth due to the popularity of herbal teas, in addition to its on-going investment in latest technology and quality standards.
"Supermarkets have gone from stocking one or two options of herbal teas to having entire shelves devoted to them and our customer base has expanded in response," Stevens added.
The company packages tea for the likes of Lipton, Twinings and Pukka Herbs.
