Ilapak launches new linear weigher for fruit and veg applications

Ilapak has launched a new linear weigher, which has also engineered for ease of cleaning and robustness when handling fresh fruit and veg applications.

The Weightronic 1200 SF weigher intends to take flexibility to a new level on fruit and veg applications that require gentler treatment.

It offers an alternative to rival vibratory systems, which are usually dedicated to a particular product. It can also switch easily between fruit and vegetable items like small potatoes, apples, citrus fruits and onions.

The weigher features quick-change vibratory channels and distribution plates that enable for tool-less changeovers between various types and sizes of products.

Gentle handling is can be assured for delicate products using special Soft Fill design features like minimised drops and adapted collector bins and vibratory channels. The weighing buckets are arranged in a linear manner for low drop heights.

The Weightronic 1200 SF has an open, stainless steel, self-draining frame with quick change distribution plates and 45° sloping surfaces that avoid dirt and debris from collecting and uses high speed stainless steel load cells.

Recently, the company launched its new Carrera 6000, a flow wrapping platform to wrap different sized products in different configurations on a cookie application.

This model, as per the company can pack cookies in several configurations ranging from individually wrapped biscuits to twin-packs in which the biscuits are in a single stack and packs of four biscuits in two stacks, at speeds of up to 500 pieces per minute.

Ilapak also stated that size changeovers can be made in within a matter of minutes because of interchangeable product guides, removable stacking device and an interchangeable sealing head.
