Greiner Packaging enlarges printing technology with new variants

Austria-based Greiner Packaging has announced the enlargement of its K1 technology with new printing variants, altogether called 'K1 plus'.

The new printing possibilities comprise convex areas, shining clear lacquer and highlighted print images or lettering.

With an eight-colour offset printing unit, the company offers printing of double-curved areas, such as convex cups.

Using a modern 8-colour offset printing unit in combination with individually manufactured laser clichés provides for a good printing image quality and the company employs digital printing plate exposure, in this regard.

The plates are lasered directly from the computer resulting in increase of reproducibility. The technology also allows for a further significant customer benefit: concept, development, cliché and print come from a single source reducing implementation times.

Another printing variant is using clear lacquer, which can be applied selectively or like full-bleed and lends the printing image higher luminosity. Only a single working process is required to highlight the printing image or the lettering in white on transparent cup, which shows the motif and lettering to their full advantage.

Greiner Packaging International K1/K2 product group director Robert Obermayr claims with K1 plus the company is enlarging its offer oriented towards market and sustainability and the customers profit from an interesting alternative to decoration technology like sleeving and labelling.
