US-based GreenBlue, a non-profit institute has initiated a project, as part of the ‘Restart the Cycle' campaign, under which a new set of product labels will be launched.
The labels have been designed by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and convey as to what parts of a product can be recycled, and how to recycle.
The labels will be printed on grocery, household, and beauty products by a number of packaging companies and the coalition will track the response from consumers.
GreenBlue project manager Anne Bedarf said the feedback is critical to improving the system and the label pilot project makes it easier for consumers to figure out what is recyclable.
Sustainable Packaging Coalition is a working group of leading companies across the packaging supply chain that is recognized as the leading voice on packaging sustainability.
