US-based food packaging company, Genpak has announced its plans to invest $22m to expand its operations in Utah, the US.
Iron County community economic development director Brennan Wood said the company, which produces items such as foam and plastic hinged containers, has operated a plant in Cedar City since 1994 and plans to add additional warehousing and distribution facilities.
The company has maxed out its existing plant and plans to purchase an existing 215,000ft2 warehouse adjacent to their operations and the expansion eventually could include additional manufacturing capability," Brennan said.
Genpak operates 12 plants in the US and five in Canada. The expansion will be the fifth undertaken by the company since it opened its doors in Cedar City.
