Fruitime and Nampak launch new carton for fruit juices

Fruit juice manufacturer Fruitime and Nampak Liquid Cartons in South Africa have jointly launched a new 330ml and 2l Pure-pak carton.

Designed to meet consumer demand for a smaller container, the 330ml mini diamond curve carton allows the consumer to sip and re-close it. The diamond feature on the opening side sits comfortably around the lip.

The carton’s board structure comprises seven layers and each layer performs a vital task to keep the product in good condition, while providing the strength to assist the carton in retaining its shape during transport and handling.

According to Nampak, the board, which is polyethylene coated aluminum foil lined, prevents oxygen permeation, preserving the product with a six-month shelf life.

The polyethylene is said to act as a barrier between the filled product and the barrier board made from aluminum foil, which is a thermal material.

The newly launched cartons are UV flexo printed on a CPS printing press and are cold filled on a P-M30 D Nampak Liquid Cartons machine with cap applicator.
