Freund Container & Supply, a division of Berlin Packaging has opened a new warehouse in Sparks, Nevada, US, which provides savings on shipping costs and faster transit times to customers in western states.
The Nevada warehouse is expected to have an impact with immediate effect on orders shipped to Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and Colorado and allows the company to ship 98% of in-stock containers the same day.
Freund Container & Supply general manager Chris Hiller said the new location reduces transit times and lowers freight rates by as much as 55%.
"Specifically, we’re looking to invest in initiatives that result in greater net income for our customers. We do this by lowering their costs, reducing transit times, and providing in-stock service," Hiller added.
Freund said the company plans to invest over $2m throughout 2012 in initiatives that will impact its customers directly.
