CROWN unveils new capping machine for food and beverage manufacturers

CROWN Food Europe has launched its new Smart Capper for the European food and beverage manufacturers. The machine is the latest addition to the company’s capping portfolio for food and beverage packaging and provides sealing for glass jars and bottles.

Developed in Crown’s Centre of Excellence in Aprilia, Italy, the machine offers a broader choice of capping solutions and is ideally suited for small and medium-sized manufacturers who need to manage fluctuations in their production volumes.

According to CROWN, a business unit of Crown Holdings, the Smart Capper can run at up to 150 caps per minute and has been designed for ease of use. It provides quick and easy manual cap and glass size changeovers and can be operated at a speed adapted through an electronic link to the rest of the production line.

The Smart Capper, designed to comply with EU directive 2006/42/CE on machine safety, is built from stainless steel with an easily accessible interior for optimum cleaning in compliance with the latest hygiene standards.

CROWN Food Europe marketing director Ana Neale said both big and small range of companies in Europe depend on the company’s capping solutions to ensure their products reach consumers in quality.

"We have designed the Smart Capper™ with small- and medium-sized manufacturers in mind, ensuring that it provides the performance and variable speeds that they require," Neale said.

CROWN Food Europe’s capping portfolio includes the High-Speed Capper, the Global Capper and the EuroCapper.
