China-based injection moulding equipment maker for packaging industry, Cosmos Machinery has opened a new factory in South China in order to increase its capacity by 30%.
Cosmos said the 50,000 square metre facility is in Dongguan, Guangdong province.
The company has a target of increasing production and sales 50% by 2013, compared with 2010 figures. The firm reported 2010 sales of $311m, with its machinery unit reporting sales of $133m.
Cosmos also said it plans to increase production at its new India joint venture facility making plastic moulding machines, from 100 machines a year now to between 350 and 480 machines in three years.
In 2010, Cosmos formed the joint venture in Ahmedabad with press maker Jishu-Hozen Machines.
