Australia-based Closed Loop Environmental Solutions and Germany-based Kobusch have announced the launch of a new range of recyclable food and beverage packaging.
With the introduction of the new range of products including both pint and half-pint PET cups, the companies aim to change the perception of packaging. The products will be manufactured in the UK, packagingeurope.com reported.
A minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) PET flake will be used in the cups, which will be supplied by Closed Loop Recycling plant in Dagenham, East London.
All of the products will be suited with Closed Loop Programme that consists of elements including compliant packaging, recycling infrastructure and communications, which address the environmental impact of food and beverage packaging at any sporting venue or event.
Closed Loop Environmental Solutions UK country manager Peter Goodwin said there is a collective responsibility between producers, recyclers and the hospitality industry to drive the agenda and increase landfill diversion and environmental benefits.
"Our product range launch brings this all together," Goodwin added.
The range was introduced at the British Association for Sustainable Sport’s (BASIS) second annual conference conducted at Cheltenham Racecourse on 20 September 2012.
