Chadwick Sleeves, a shrink sleeves producing firm, has unveiled a version that incorporates Braille.
The newest offering follows the European Standard for Braille on Packaging for Medicinal Products that stipulates claims on drugs issued through a non-authorized party must be having Braille-enabled packaging.
Chadwicks collaborated with Braille innovators as part of the PS9000 accredited UK labels division of the Clondalkin Group.
The firm has been involved in flexible packaging for five decades with emphasis on pre-cut lid manufacture.
Chadwicks sales and marketing director Martin Hardman said the new product offers a provision to improve shelf-appeal by using a single sleeve without other packaging requirements to minimize cost.
"Working with other companies within the Clondalkin Group allows us to develop innovative products that fit closely with the needs of the market and this is an example of the competitive advantage it gives us whilst highlighting the benefits of such partnerships to our customer base" added Hardman.
