Australia-based Centrum Printing has ordered a new KBA Rapida 162a six-color plus coater as the company forays into packaging and point of sale (POS) print.
The new press, which will be installed and commissioned in Sydney later in 2013, can print either conventional or UV inks and coatings.
Centrum managing director Percy Vij said the company is a general commercial printer at the moment but sees opportunities in niche markets, such as packaging and POS.
"The new KBA Rapida 162a will enable us to enter these markets. We will also be setting up a trade print service to enable other printers to serve that market," Vij said.
Centrum Printing offers a range of commercial printing services, promotional material and point of sale products.
