US-based flexible packaging firm CDF Corporation has launched a new European division that will manufacture and market its United Nations certified bag in box, Cheertainer UN.
CDF said it has pioneered the Cheetainer in the US market and the box is a form-fitting, multi-ply bag, which has the capability to dispense many liquids with benefits not found in traditional pillow bags.
The box can also be used for international transport of certain hazardous goods, reports packagingnews.co.uk.
CDF Europe director of operations Marco Dariol said to obtain UN certification requires knowledge in film procurement, packaging design, machinery specifications and processing parameters.
CDF managing director Laura Beechwood said the new division will be the first of the CDF Corporation based outside of the US, and the company has been preparing for the launch for several months.
