Scottish packaging firm Boxshop announced that it will invest £2.2m to expand its manufacturing facility located at East Kilbride.
The firm has received a £300,000 Regional Selective Assistance grant from a regional body for the purpose, according to bbc.co.uk.
Boxshop managing director Douglas Lamb claimed the company looks forward to keep itself ahead of competitors, in light of its growth as one of the major independent makers of corrugated boxes in the country.
"To do that, we need to invest our time and money in making sure that we have the right products and processes and that they are as efficient and effective as possible," Lamb added.
Boxshop announcement came as reports of Scottish Enterprise observed that country’s manufacturing sector has experienced £20m of productivity savings in the last year.
