Bosch to introduce secondary packaging technologies at FachPack 2013

Bosch Packaging Technology is all set to introduce innovative secondary packaging technologies for the hygienic packaging market at FachPack to be held from 24 to 26 September 2013 in Nuremberg, Germany.

Initially, the company will introduce its inverted horizontal flow wrapper Pack 301 IN, which has been developed for the packaging of soft, sticky, flexible or difficult-to-handle products.

The system transports the packaging film from below and the product is fed directly onto the film from the feeding system.

Jams can be reduced by transporting the product on top of the packaging film from the forming shoulder to the cross-sealing unit, leading to minimized downtime.

According to Bosch, the system can be adjusted to accommodate various product heights, resulting in decrease of downtime during product changeovers.

Bosch will also exhibit its coffee packaging machine PME 4001, featuring several technologies, which have been designed to maintain long product shelf life and production.

The core of the packaging line is the modular vertical form, fill and seal machine for quality bags, which are filled with an inert gas flush through the FVS auger filler.

The auger filler’s filling precision, low residual oxygen rates, as well as gentle product handling lead to low product rejects and waste.

PME 4001also includes the KWI 6000 checkweigher to measure pack weight and to adjust over- and underfilling of the product with the auger filler.

At FachPack, the company will also exhibit its service concept Preventive Maintenance, which helps producers optimize machinery performance and efficiency of packaging line.

A Carton Printing System (CPS) that includes a Tamper Evident function will also be introduced at the event. The system enables manufacturers to meet the requirements stipulated by Directive 2011/62/EU of the European Union.

Bosch claims that the system is capable of printing and verifying a maximum of 300 cartons per minute at a length of about 2,000mm.

The CPS 1900 with Tamper Evident function, which places transparent standard labels on the folding carton, is available with a labeler or checkweigher, or with a combination of both.
