Packaging and process technology supplier Bosch Packaging Technology has opened a new sales and service office in Egyptian capital Cairo, in a bid to tap the rapid growth in the food, confectionery, and pharmaceutical industries in the African nation.
The new facility will provide local sales and service support to African and Middle Eastern markets.
Bosch, which already has an assembly location in South Africa, has set a mid double-digit million euro range 2013 sales target for machines and services for its Cairo office, whose key markets are the pharmaceutical and food industries.
The office, which already has ten associates since its opening in July 2012, is planning to double its staff by the end of 2013.
Bosch Cairo office general manager Mazen Touban said, "Our Egyptian office gives us a local presence to better serve our customers with packaging technology and after-sales services."
Bosch is looking at exploiting the Egyptian pharma market, which is expected to grow at a rate of 11% through 2015, according to the Oxford Business Group.
