Brand design agency Bluemarlin has redesigned packaging for SCI-MX Nutrition, a brand in the sports nutrition category.
The redesign is in response to a market and consumer research project based on consumer attitudes to nutrition as well as the underlying reasons for the UK’s recent boom in the sports nutrition market.
According to the design agency, the new design capitalizes on the quality of SCI-MX products and focuses on its scientifically proven formulas.
Bluemarlin strengthened the SCI-MX’s logo with a new molecular symbol and typography and gave it a modern feel.
The usage of blue, silver and white colors on the packaging is said to communicate trust, intelligence, and authority.
The amount of required information on the pack is communicated through the icons and sleek holding shapes.
SCI-MX brand marketing manager Chay Watkins said, "A year ago we focused heavily on research to better understand the SCI-MX consumer and their perceptions of the brand and the competitive-set. A common theme was that the brand could be more representative of its associations with quality, high performance and science."
