Berlin Packaging, Sanner announce desiccant distribution agreement

Berlin Packaging and German manufacturer of plastic packaging solutions Sanner have announced an exclusive distribution agreement enabling Berlin to sell Sanner’s new 360º Desiccant Capsules in the US.

According to Berlin Packaging, the move brings the dessicant, which provides continuous moisture adsorption in any position, to a broader customer base in the US.

The 360º Capsule’s cylinder design regardless of its position in a package with its fine external grid structure, adsorbs moisture on all sides and its shape also differentiates the capsule from tablets, helping those with impaired vision to avoid ingesting the desiccant by mistake.

Berlin Packaging supply chain vice president Rich Chapman said the agreement with Sanner will broaden the company’s product portfolio and further improve its ability to address customer needs.

"The 360º Capsule not only is a more cost-effective alternative to conventional desiccant canisters, but it also outperforms anything on the market," Chapman added.

Sanner’s US subsidiary Sanner USA will continue to serve its existing US accounts and will work in partnership with Berlin to develop new sales opportunities across the country.

Desiccants are sold in canister, capsule or sachet forms and are used to capture moisture and help maintain a specific climatic profile in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packages.
