Ball Packaging to resume production after Wrexham plant blaze

Ball Packaging Europe has reportedly planned to restart production after recovering from a fire mishap, which took place on 22 July 2012 at its Wrexham beverage can facility in North Wales.

According to the firm, the workforce is assessing the extent of damage done along with external experts, in order to resume full capacity production at the earliest.

Ball Packaging hopes it would be able to make up for the loss of production by moving production to other location and mobilizing its stocks.

The firm was reportedly not available to reveal the precise fall-outs from the mishap, though reports say there were no major casualties or environmental impact.

North Wales Fire & Rescue Service handled the blaze, which suspected an electrical fault as the cause, while the firm mobilized six appliances to the spot.
