UK-based mailing equipment supplier AMS has entered the label and packaging segment with the installation of a short-run digital label printer Speedstar 3000.
The Speedstar 3000 has full-color option with a resolution of 1,600 x 800 dpi and can handle substrates with a thickness of 0.13mm to 0.33mm.
According to the firm, its aim is to cater to the demand for labeling and packaging machinery, and its know-how in complex mail insertion printers would help it to supply label printers and shrink wrap machines.
AMS managing director Peter Fiorentini underlined color-label printing has become vital for in-house packaging production process and Speedstar’s new technology with large color interfaces would be recommended by customers.
"Where speed and running costs have historically been key issues for potential users, we can serve a broad market due to the cost-effectiveness and high quality of the Memjet color printing technology. The printer has a dramatic impact on how color printing can be used." added Fiorentini.
