UK-based Alexir Packaging, the carton manufacturing division of the Alexir Partnership will install a second production line, which is expected to be operational in August.
The installations include a Komori Lothrone SX640 printing press and a Bobst 106PER cutting and creasing machine.
Alexir Packaging sales director Tom Sene said the second production line will increase the company’s capacity by over 70% and will also reduce the production lead time, considerably.
"We had scheduled another press investment for the end of 2011 or early 2012, but with the business growing, it made good sense to invest now and follow up with an identically specified machine," Sene said.
The company relocated to a new site in Edenbridge, Kent in January after fire devasted its Crawley operation in November last year.
