Another month and another major trade show is looming on the converting world’s horizon. Everyone with an interest in the narrow web market is likely to be Brussels bound to check out the latest technology when Labelexpo Europe 2007 opens its doors for four days on September 24.
Converting Today is proud to share a media partnership with this vibrant event, whose prominence in the converting calendar reflects the continuing importance of the label and other narrow web sectors of our industry. This issue includes a substantial preview of the many innovations that will be seen at the show (see exhibitions section). In company with our sister publication RFID Solutions, we will also be present as an exhibitor – looking forward to welcoming all visitors to our stand 11S110, in hall 11 at the Brussels Expo.
As usual, we will also be trekking the aisles to see at first hand what’s new amongst the exhibits, and to learn how the companies are faring and what they planning for the future.
Selfadhesive label industry body FINAT expects the European market to maintain its steady growth this year, with a rise of around 6-7 per cent (see news section). RFID, digital printing, carton and flexible packaging developments are also continuing to fuel the positive trends that have been broadening the scope of the narrow web business generally.
Here’s to a Brussels bonanza for one and all!
In these days of seemingly ever increasing regulation and legislation, a strong and active industry association can play a vital part in championing the best interests of all the companies concerned. So the coming together of the UK’s Packaging and Industrial Films Association and Flexible Packaging Association is good news indeed (see news section).
Their combination into PAFA, the Packaging and Films Association, bodes well for the future, not least as the film manufacturers, suppliers and converters continue to face increasing pressure on the environmental front.
