Wolf Medical Wins Ruling For Redi-Flo Infusion Pump

Wolf Medical Supply has been granted a favorable ruling by the Court of Appeals in their ongoing litigation with I-Flow, a division of Kimberly-Clark, regarding the Redi-Flo Infusion Pump. Wolf Medical can now sell the Redi-Flo Infusion Pump throughout the US.

The company claims that on December 17, 2009, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit granted Wolf Medical Supply’s motion staying a preliminary injunction regarding the Redi-Flo Infusion Pump. The injunction was issued by the District Court for the Central District of California after I-Flow argued that its US Patent Number 5284481 was valid, enforceable, and infringed by the Redi-Flo infusion pump.

The Redi-Flo Infusion Pump is a disposable, single-use elastomeric infusion device designed to provide convenient and accurate alternate site infusions. The Redi-Flo Infusion Pump is an innovative new design that is both latex free and DEHP free. The Redi-Flo Infusion Pump is also easy to fill and provides reliable, steady fluid delivery.

The company said that it always believed that it does not infringe I-Flow’s ‘481 Patent and that the Patent is invalid and unenforceable. With the ruling of December 17, 2009, Wolf Medical is free to market and sell the Redi-Flo Infusion Pump.

Gary Woolfson, president of Wolf Medical, said: “We appreciate the decision of the Appeals Court. It is an enormous relief as we are now able to properly satisfy our customers needs. At the end of the day, we believe that the courts will find not only that there is no patent infringement in this case, but that the claims made against Wolf Medical were actually false and unwarranted.”
