TransEnterix, Inc. (TransEnterix), a North Carolina based medical device company, has announced the appointment of Tom Miller as vice president of operations. Miller’s primary duties involve managing TransEnterix’s rapid prototype development operations. Miller brings with him more than 25 years of professional experience in designing and manufacturing medical devices and components. Prior to TransEnterix, he worked for Synecor.
Prior to Synecor, he served as CEO of M3 Medical and held leadership roles at Globus Medical.
TransEnterix relies on rapid prototyping, intense pre-clinical labs and hands-on collaboration with expert surgeons who provide input into device development to accelerate the company’s learning and allows it to bring a device to market more quickly.
Miller’s job is to integrate prototype improvements in a way that will ensure the final product’s large-scale manufacturability.
“Tom takes big-picture vision and tangible ideas coming from several different sources and turns them into a workable solution that we hope ultimately will end up in the hands of physicians performing minimally invasive surgery,” said Todd M. Pope, president and CEO.
