(St. Jude Medical) has opened new globalheadquarters and AF Technology Center at its Little Canada campus. The $62 million, 180,000-square-foot building on 10 acres includes office space, research and development facilities, light manufacturing and training facilities for the medical technology company's corporate and atrial fibrillation division employees.

The company broke ground for the facility in November 2007 and employees moved into the building in May and June. About 324 workforces will work in the new headquarters, which have capacity for 400. St. Jude employs about 2,300 people in Minnesota and 14,000 worldwide.
