Spiracur adds to Marathon Medical FSS contract

Spiracur, a provider of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) devices, has been added to Marathon Medical's existing Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract, administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on behalf of the US General Services Administration (GSA).

The arrangement allows Spiracur to expand the availability of its SNaP Wound Care System in partnership with Marathon Medical throughout the entire federal healthcare system.

The SNaP Wound Care System is disposable and can easily fit under a patient’s clothing, which has resulted in improved patient acceptance and compliance of the therapy.

Spiracur sales vice president Dane Shackleford said they are pleased to have secured this contract, which not only offers a multitude of opportunities to sell their SNaP System, but ensures that veterans and active soldiers have access to their silent and lightweight device for proven wound treatment.

The Snap Wound Care System was categorised by the FDA as ‘non-powered’ NPWT devices and the device is indicated for patients who would benefit from a suction device for wound healing.

The device is indicated for removal of small amounts of exudate (fluid) from chronic, acute, traumatic, subacute and dehisced wounds, as well as ulcers (such as diabetic or pressure), and surgically closed incisions.
