Researchers develop new stem cell device for burn victims

Researchers at University of Pittsburgh in the US have developed a cell spraying device which sprays stem cells on to burned skin, allowing the healthy skin to grow again.

In this procedure, the stem cells are isolated from healthy parts of the burn victim’s skin and are added to a water solution.

The stem cells are then loaded into the spray gun, and the cells are sprayed directly onto the wound, and this process allows the healthy skin to grow again.

According to researchers, the new method has been successfully used to treat over 12 patients and it can reduce the healing time from month to days.
