The RAM Group has launched its Quantum Cardio-Respiratory Monitor (qCRM), the integrated single-point, non-invasive, bio-electro-mechanical sensor with the potential to offer full-body diagnostics and analysis.
RAM Group recently completed a feasibility study with the Giessen University Hospital in Giessen Germany for its single-point measure (SPM) sensor and found that their non-invasive tool outperformed other more traditional measures. The technology holds great promise for SPM sensors that can be utilized at point-of-care or through wearable devices. RAM Group is now seeking additional funding for further research and validation.
Giessen University Hospital research team leader Ardeshir Ghofrani said: “In our study, the qCRM performed extremely well against the litany of accepted monitoring technologies. This is remarkable noting that the qCRM utilizes only one point of contact to receive data from the patient.
“To be able to receive this level of organ function detail from a single point sensor is extremely exciting. The potential uses for this diagnostic and monitoring technology are significant.”
The qCRM sensor integrates multi-parametric (HR, RAP, LAP, CVP, BR) and multi variant (Heart Rate Variability, Blood Pressure, Cardiac-Output, Circulatory Dynamics, Field-Propagation Dynamics) signals into unified waveforms, representing the comprehensive bodily functions and processes.
The greater insights and data-sets generated in any applications using the qCRM platform have great opportunities for integration with existing risk stratification algorithms and deciphering hidden risk factors for cardio-pulmonary conditions and beyond.

Existing technologies monitor a single-field or effect, like the photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor found in all wearable smartwatches today. The PPG sensor is limited to a single waveform measuring changes in light absorption representing the perfusion of blood to the dermis and subcutaneous tissue of the skin.
The “single-effect” waveform measures the indirect mechanical movement of the cardiac-cycle alone. Additional devices such as ECG, ultrasound, spirometer and MRI machines are necessary to access internal sub-functions of the heart, lungs and major organ systems. For example, a high-acuity multi-system monitoring stations, such as those in ER/OR/ICU are costly, requiring dedicated infrastructure and trained personnel.
Utilizing RAM Group’s proprietary qDS technology, the sensor merely needs to touch a single point on the body to begin analyzing the REAL or DIRECT pressure(s) related to cardio-pulmonary function. Traditional electrode-based ECG/PPG and blood pressure cuff devices work as indirect measurement devices.
Quantum devices are detecting the smallest charge potentials produced by various cell activities in the body. It is through this quantum mechanical interaction that the qCRM is able to monitor and identify the different processes and functions in the heart, lungs and other organ systems in unprecedented resolution as compared to more expensive and sometimes invasive devices. The result is more timely and accurate diagnosis that addresses cause rather than effect.
