Philips To Sell Sectra PACS In Japan

Sectra and Philips have completed an agreement whereby Philips will sell Sectra PACS in Japan under a joint branding policy, revitalizing a partnership that ended in 2005.

According to the companies, the Japanese medical device market is the second largest in the world after the USA, which means that this development is significant for both companies. There is still an installed base of around 30 Sectra/Philips PACS systems in Japan as a platform and reference for future expansion in the quality-focused and demanding Japanese market.

Torbjorn Kronander, president of medical operations at Sectra, said: “This is a very important agreement for Sectra since it provides us with a strong and competent partner in a key market. Furthermore, signing this agreement in Japan proves the values of the high quality and stability of our PACS systems. We look forward to revitalizing our association with Philips, focusing on both companies’ strengths.”

Danny Risberg, chief operating officer of Philips Electronics Japan, said:“Under this agreement we will have the ability to integrate Sectra PACS with Philips modalities in our market, giving us the opportunity to improve our performance and expand the offering to our customers in the Japanese market,”

Sectra develops and sells IT systems and products for radiology, mammography and orthopedic departments.
