Philips launches IntelliSpace Cardiovascular system in Europe

The Netherlands-based Royal Philips has launched its web-enabled image and information management system, IntelliSpace Cardiovascular, in Europe.

The new system is said to serve as a link of interoperability, helping all care team members to access data and introduce enhanced clinical applications such as IntelliSpace Portal or IntelliSpace ECG within a single workspace.

Philips senior vice president and healthcare IT general manager Yair Briman said: "IntelliSpace Cardiovascular enables clinicians to take a holistic view of the patient’s cardiovascular journey with one workspace and the ability to dive deeper into more clinical depths.

"This includes accessing other third party applications, providing a comprehensive view of the patient, which helps enable care givers to deliver better patient care."

IntelliSpace Cardiovascular has been developed to centralize patient data from different areas of the hospital.

The new information management system enables all care team members to view the patient’s history spanning diagnosis, treatment and therapy, thereby allowing to mininise unnecessary and repetitive tests.

The system, which can be integrated into the existing infrastructure, includes a suite of interoperable clinical modules that will enhance workflow across the entire cardiovascular service line from almost any place.

It also features built-in echocardiography reporting, which allows cardiologists to identify and eradicate inaccuracies within reports.

The company has exhibited the system at the ESC Congress 2015, which is being held from 29 August to 2 September in London.
