Pexco, an Atlanta-based designer and fabricater of custom extruded plastics products, has acquired Mexico-based Multitube Medical Devices.
Multitube specializes in extrusions for the medical device, health and safety, and consumer product markets.
It serves original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in the greater Mexicali and Tijuana region of northwest Mexico.
The new Pexco facility totals 17,500 square feet and includes a Class 100,000 medical clean room.
Pexco facility manufactures extruded products for several of its core specialty segments, including lighting and medical.
The plant employs 40 people operating 10 production lines.
Pexco CEO Neil Shillingford said the facility’s location near Tijuana gives them a presence in this manufacturing region that benefits customers in Mexico and adjacent parts of the US.
Pexco Medical Sales and Marketing vice president Richard Brooks said they are excited about bringing their technical product offering, including multilumen tubing, para-tubing, co-extrusions, multi-layered, wire-encapsulated tubing, and their new microbore capabilities to the Baja area market.
