LiveData has unveiled a new web-based solution to plan, visualize, and analyze surgical scheduling.
The LiveData PeriOp Planner will visually coordinate the patient’s steps from first referral through scheduled surgery.
It allows patients to be prepared for surgery, and prevent last-minute cancellations. It will enbale hospitals to accurately track and assess patient readiness and resource requirements in real time to maximize efficiency and operating room utilization.
The PeriOp Planner system has some tools integrated such as Service Block Planner and Surgery Planner with PreOp Workup from LiveData
Surgery Planner allows clinical staff to coordinate a patient’s progress at the first referral to the day of the surgery and in planning for surgeries.
PreOp Workup can be useful for clinical staff in creating an interactive preoperative checklist which can be customised for individual patients and cases. It keeps track of items such as labs, images, consults, transportation, admission status and other surgical prerequisites, which are updated as patient prepares for surgery.
LIveData Service Block Planner is useful for schedulers and operation room managers in creating and managing master block schedule as well as fully controlling the details of the schedule.
LiveData says that its PeriOp Manager and PeriOp Planner can be easily integrated with EMRs and hospital information and scheduling systems using LiveData Real-Time Integration. The company also claims that the technology can eliminate the use of phone calls, faxes and multiple separate electronic systems to stay up to date on patients, cases and surgical resources.
The technology can also help clinical staff to keep tab on patients with reminders about completing labs, prior consults to surgery and to change the scheduled surgery dates.
LiveData CEO and president Jeff Robbins said: “LiveData PeriOp Planner increases the power of LiveData PeriOp Manager solutions to transform surgical healthcare delivery through informatics.
“PeriOp Planner coordinates and improves access to care, drives performance and efficiency, provides data to measure quality and outcomes, and most importantly, improves the patient experience of care.”
